The Endowment Fund -- Ensuring the Guild's Future

In late 1996, the Guild began the process of developing an endowment fund--a first for the organization in its 20 year history. Funds collected and deposited into the fund are used for long term investment and are intended to ultimately contribute to the Guild's annual budget. The Endowment Fund money will not be used to fund day-to-day expenses.

Fund raising for the plan began in the Spring of 1997 with a challenge grant program; by the end of the spring, $2,076 was raised and began earning for the Guild's future.  At the end of June 2003, the Endowment Fund had grown to over $23,000 dollars, well on our way to reaching the point where we can begin to draw on the funds for Guild.

Contributions to the Endowment Fund are gladly accepted at any time. Checks may be written to "The DeKalb Choral Guild" and please be sure to write in the memo block on your check the words "Endowment Fund." We are also pleased to accept cash, securities that you own or American Express cards for contributions. The Guild is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit arts organization.  Therefore, your donations to the Guild are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by tax law.
