Fall 2008

The Festival accepts compositions from high school and college students across the state of Georgia

December 31, 2008

The deadline for receiving application packets from the composers.

January 2009

The Selection Committee reviews the compositions to determine the finalists.

February 2009

The Festival names the finalists. The Festival sends the Selection Committee comments to all composers.

March through May 2009

The DeKalb Choral Guild prepares the compositions for performance with advice from the finalists.

May 15-16, 2009

The finalists arrive in Atlanta for the concert and participate in special events and workshops.

May 16, 2009

The Festival concert event takes place.  The Judges Committee will select the prize winners from among the finalists.

Welcome reception for finalists, families, judges

Friday 7:30 to 10:00

Dress/Technical rehearsal with the Guild at the concert venue.

Saturday Morning, May 16

Composing workshops with the finalists

Saturday Afternoon

Leisure time

Saturday 6:00 PM

Concert call time for all participants

Saturday 8:00 PM
